Description
A downpipe filter generally collects sediment and other foreign bodies from rainwater as it flows off of a roof and then through the gutter and then through the downpipe and attached filter. When used in conjunction with gutter screens, a properly installed and maintained filter typically increases the efficiency of the rainwater harvesting system, which most often is in a My ECO Barrel™ or ClimaHarvest™ rainwater collection system. Downpipe filters can be placed anywhere from just below the roofline to the top of a My ECO Barrel™. Some downpipe filters can be installed on top of the rain barrel and generally are a two-phase filtering system.

Downpipe filters are typically placed into categories not by size, but rather by the volume of rainwater that they can filter. Each of the filters can be installed onto many downpipe sizes and shapes using either an adapter that is included or with an adapter that provides conformity changes like from round to square downpipe forms. Some downpipe filter have the same size inlet diameter as they do outlet diameter; Inox, Rainus, Leaf Separator, however, the Filter Collector uses a discharge/outlet that can connect to you My ECO Barrel™ with a smaller diameter hose or pipe depending on your installation, or directly attach to your storage tank. You can choose the Inox which comes in either copper or nickel finish; with the Rainus, Filter Collector, and the Leaf Separator in brown or grey polyethylene.
